Managed hosting is a service model in which the hosting provider takes responsibility for operating and securing the server environment, including OS patching, monitoring, backups, and security hardening, rather than leaving those tasks to the customer.
For HIPAA workloads, managed hosting helps ensure that safeguards such as encryption, audit logging, and timely patching are consistently maintained. The provider acts as a business associate and must sign a BAA.
